CCTVs, panic button on every third bus seat in DTC buses

The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is planning to install CCTV cameras and panic buttons on every third seat of each bus. The process of installation is expected to begin soon and likely to completed by this November. The primary aim of providing this technology in the buses is safety of passengers, particularly women. As the CCTV feed will be monitored in real-time from control centers, the response time of transport and other authorities in the event of an emergency would be quick and effective.

Initially, there were plans to introduce only three panic buttons in each bus, but DTC later decided to introduce more buttons for easy accessibility. Plans are to provide one panic button on every third seat in a bus.
