Traffic Management System for Mumbai

To address issues of traffic jams in Mumbai and its subsequent effect, the Maharashtra government recently approved Rs 891Cr to implement the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) project. The project will help to streamline vehicular movement on the metropolis’ roads, introduce smart signaling system, identify number plates, control over-speeding vehicles, illegal parking, trace stolen vehicles and recovery of penalty.

The system can also help to adjust signal time slot based on vehicular traffic on a road and its length. ITMS will be implemented on the roads and also on the city’s bridges & flyovers.
