Bicycle Sharing System in Mysuru : A model for India

Trin Trin, the country’s first Public Bicycle Sharing System (PBSS), was rolled out in Mysuru an year back. With 52 docking stations across the city, and nearly 9,000 people registering to use bicycles, the system has taken off. The service now app enabled and authorities are hoping that its popularity will increase.

The users feel that separate bicycle lanes will help to attract more people to the scheme. The City has a network of wide roads, which is conducive for bike riding, thereby bringing down vehicle population in the city. Also being recommended are : making available cycles of different sizes and design and with carrier spaces and routine maintenance of cycles .
