Centralized traffic control system at Tundla Railway station

Tundla becomes the first railway station of the country to have Centralised Traffic Control (CTC) system, to control train traffic from one location. The system is being installed in the Kanpur-Ghaziabad section of North Central Railway (NCR), one of the busiest and most congested corridors of the Indian Railway. On an average, more than 400 trains pass over this section every day from Freight, oil tankers to passenger’s trains. CTC would ensure less traffic and easier operations.

The project is being executed at a cost of Rs 40Cr, it has several important advantages such as efficient time-table management of train operations, up to six train movements on a route at a particular period which will save time and resources; facility for real-time detection and online rectification of mistakes if any are committed by the controller among others.
